What are cookies?

A cookie is a file that is downloaded to your computer when you access certain Web pages. Among other things, cookies enable a website to store and retrieve information about a user’s or computer’s browsing habits and, depending on the information it contains and the way you use your computer, to recognize the user.

The user’s browser stores cookies on the hard drive only during the current session, using little space and not harming the computer. Cookies do not contain any personal data, and most of them are deleted from the hard disk at the end of the browser session (so-called session cookies).

Most browsers accept cookies by default and allow or prevent temporary or stored cookies in the security settings independently of the cookie.

Without your explicit consent – by activating the cookies in your browser – you will not associate the data stored in the cookies with your personal data that you provided during registration or purchase.
